Teenage Hair Loss

Male Pattern Thinning considered as the cause of hair loss in teenagers is the process of hair follicles shrinking day by day , which further reduces the hair on the top of the head to get a U shaped formation on the head.

The time when hair loss starts is generally late teens and early 20s. The boys and girls who are affected by this MPT are all set to grow bald by the age of 30. Thus the saying goes “If you have a head full of hair at the age of 30. You will have it for the rest of life.”

We have already discussed hair loss due to anaemia here. Here is some more insight into the reason of hair loss.

Causes of hair loss in teenage girls:

1)Stress.
2)Taking steroids.
3)Smoking.
4)There is a 50% chance that if a father has got Male Thinning Pattern genes, the son is going to get bald. That does not mean, if both the parents have head full of hear then the son won’t get it. It goes like the mother can still possess the genes, which she might have inherited from her mother or father.

How to prevent hair loss

Hair loss prevention will involve a person in interfering with the inherited genes. There are certain male hormones which influence the genes leading to hair loss . The other way to prevent hair loss is, prevent those from doing so.

Other tips to prevent hair loss

* Eight hours of sleep.
* Proper diet.
* Relaxation of mind.
